Why are you called Sauce Odyssey?

This is how (and where) our concept began, with a desire to bring (more) light to talented sauce makers nationwide by telling their stories and sampling their creations.  This interactive, “try before you buy” platform was intended to broaden peoples’ sauce horizons and inspire them to do new, delicious things in their own kitchens.

A rotisserie-centered restaurant was then added to heighten the guest experience by giving patrons an opportunity to use curated sauces on different foods. Although every sauce isn’t necessarily showcased in our scratch menu, we do have items like rotisserie wings and nachos that make for a wonderful base for our sauces.

What kind of sauces do you have?

Mostly “mild-to-medium heat” salsas, pepper sauces, bbq sauces, and handcrafted cooking sauces.  Each are sampled on a compostable, paper spoon.

Are the sauce tours free? How much do the sauces cost?

Yes, the tours are always free. A full, guided tour of all 14 sauces lasts between 5-10 minutes and is a fun and unique “Austin” experience. Each sauce is $9+tax.

Do you make your own sauces, or do you just curate?

We make over a dozen sauces in our kitchen that are part of our menu. We also make a weekly sauce at the tasting bar as an educational experience.

Where exactly are you located?

1403 E 7th St, approximately 6 blocks east of  I-35 on 7th St. We are directly across from the Texas State Cemetery, and are parked in the courtyard between Kammok and Revival Coffee. The closest intersection is Navasota (or Onion St) and 7th St.

Are you kid and/or dog friendly?

Yes to both!  We have plenty of games for the kiddos, and also have a special kid’s  quesadilla for $3.50 on our menu. Sauce Odyssey is also a dog’s paradise. We have a 4,000 square foot, SHADED courtyard with complimentary poop bags and doggie water bowls for all 4 leggeds. There is even unseasoned rotisserie chicken for $1.50/oz on our menu. Don’t forget to tag us with #dogsofsauceodyssey on Instagram!!

What about alcoholic beverages?

A nice selection of local canned beer and wine are available for sale next door at Revival Coffee, but our courtyard is also BYOB or BYO-spirits if you so please! All we ask is that all BYO-beverages DO NOT leave the courtyard as to not violate Revival Coffee’s TABC license.

Where do we park?

Free parking is available in the alleyway between 6th and 7th, and also along the cemetery on the west side of Navasota St.

Do you cater?

Yes. We can cater both onsite and offsite and will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please use the following form to submit catering inquiries and you will hear back from us shortly! Thank you for the opportunity!!

We are always happy to section off a portion for your party!

Where are the restrooms?

When did you open?

After 4 years of R&D, we launched on November 19th, 2018. A short time later, on December 16th, we got the sauce tasting bar underway making us fully operational.

Do you ship sauces?

Not quite yet, but eventually. When that time comes, we will share it on social media, our website, and through our monthly newsletter.
